Realistic costs for posting job ads

Don't pay $300 to place and ad...pay nothing!

With the cost of placing an online job ad spiraling rapidly upwards, new job search engine, 'Job Ahoy!', is a breath of fresh air to employers. Launched today, Job Ahoy! lets you post a job ad for free!

While conventional job search engines allow job-seekers free access to most of their services, they charge employers to post job ads. Career Builder in the US, for instance, charges USD $389 to place a standard job ad.

"The idea grew out of pure frustration," says Job Ahoy! founder, Ian Butler. "When it took me half an hour to post a single job ad on one of the major job sites, and I was charged several hundred dollars for the honor, the seed was planted. A couple of days later, I realized that the conventional job search engine model isn't just frustrating, it's also becoming increasingly ineffective." According to Mr. Butler, most job search engines exclude businesses that don't have the advertising budget required. "Most jobs simply aren't advertised because the employers can't afford the sky-rocketing prices. As a result, job-seekers never find out about them. It's just bad business."

Mr. Butler says it was then that he realized the business potential of cheap job search site. In January Job Ahoy! introduced a smart system whereby advertisers can pay a little extra to take their ads higher in the page litings. "More and more people are using the web to find their next job. In fact, the latest figures value the UK market alone at USD $4-5 billion. As conventional expensive pay-per-post job sites price themselves out of business, employers will turn elsewhere. And where better than somewhere so cheap? We're anticipating a very high volume of web traffic, and it's this traffic that will be our bread and butter."

Job Ahoy! will initially target the English speaking markets of the USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand, India and Australia.

It is professional, easy to use, and, in addition to free job postings, it offers all the standard tools for employers and job seekers, including resume builder, email notifications, job tracking, and resume and cover letter upload facilities.
