NOW TESTING for Census Jobs
THE DECENNIAL CENSUS: The Census is a count of everyone living in the United States and is conducted every 10 years as mandated by the United States Constitution, Article 1, Section 2. When the census first began in 1790, its sole purpose was to determine the number of seats each state had in the U.S. House of Representatives. Today, Census takers' work also affects the AMOUNT OF FEDERAL FUNDING RECEIVED by the states, counties, and cities. The results help determine how federal funds are spent in our community (on things like schools, senior centers, government services and programs, highways and roads, public transportation systems, and other public services). As a census taker or support staff member, you'll help to make sure that everyone in our community gets counted.

THE JOB: The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary census takers for the 2010 Census. These short-term jobs offer good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and mileage reimbursement.  Best of all, census takers work right in their own communities.  There are several types of positions available, for many backgrounds and skill levels. This is a temporary, part-time to full-time (up to 40 hours/week) job. Some positions are available specifically for bilingual persons. Persons with disabilities are invited to apply as well. Veterans Preference can be established with DD Form 214. The Census Bureau is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

-Weekly Pay
-Flexible Hours
